Stay overnight and experience! Enjoy the nightlife of Kure
Posted on: March 12, 2024
Kure City is fun even on a day trip, but why not stay overnight and enjoy the city at night? Admiring the night scenery and touring the food stalls are great for couples or friends. An evening cruise and stargazing are also perfect for families. Once you discover the charms of the city that you can't find during the day, you'll love Kure even more.
Kure Bay Ship Tour (Evening Kure Cruise)
This short cruise departs from Kure Central Pier and allows you to see large ships being built at the shipyard, as well as the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's escort ships and submarines up close. It is very popular as a guide will be giving explanations on the open deck on the second floor. The final cruise of this series is a special cruise called the "Yukure Cruise" (reservations required two days in advance). It departs at sunset and allows you to see the precious ceremony of the Self-Defense Force flag being lowered from a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force vessel, accompanied by the sound of a trumpet.

Haigamine Night View Tour
Beautiful mountains surround the central business district of Kure City in a bowl shape. Located to the north, and rising majestically, is Haigamine, 737m above sea level. On a clear day, this mountain offers a commanding view all the way to the Shikoku mountain range, and at night you can enjoy a glittering night view of the port town. Its beauty is such that it has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Night Views" and one of the "Three Great Night Views of Chugoku and Shikoku," and the city lights looking down below look like a jewel box. Why not enjoy it to the fullest on the night view course (required time: 2 hours) of Tabi Taxi?

Food stalls on Kuramoto Street
Kuramoto Street was developed as part of a model project for the formation of urban landscapes, and is a beautiful place with azaleas in spring and ginkgo trees in autumn. Made up of a plaza and a brick walkway, it is a perfect place to relax and take a stroll. At night, food stalls line the street, giving it a different feel from the daytime. The rows of red lanterns and colorful noren curtains give it a traditional downtown feel. From standard food stall menus such as ramen and oden, there is also a place that serves stylish original cuisine. Enjoy a conversation with the person sitting next to you and spend a time filled with human warmth.
